Broken Age is a point-and-click adventure telling the stories of a young boy and girl leading parallel lives. The girl has been chosen by her village to be sacrificed to a terrible monster–but she decides to fight back. Meanwhile, a boy on a spaceship is living a solitary life under the care of a motherly computer, but he wants to break free to lead adventures and do good in the world. Adventures ensue.
Broken Age development began when we asked our community if they would help us create a classic-style adventure game without needing to rely on traditional publishers. It turns out they did.
And ever since day one, 2 Player Productions has been recording the whole process in an ongoing series of in-depth episodes documenting the creation of a game. Stay tuned for details on how to get your hands on it.

Game Analysis | Broken Age is an upcoming point-and-click adventure game and is Tim Schafer's first in the genre since 1998's Grim Fandango. The game is to be produced and distributed by Schafer's Double Fine Productions for Microsoft Windows, Mac OS X, Linux, iOS, and Android platforms. It is notable for being the largest crowd funded game to date as well as one of the largest crowd funded projects of any type, having raised $3.45 million from more than 87,000 backers through Kickstarter; the success of the Kickstarter drive spurred a number of other video game Kickstarter projects to revitalize series and introduce new games that would otherwise be difficult to get funding for. The game's development will be chronicled by an episodic series of documentaries produced by 2 Player Productions. | |

Vella's perspective
idea
esthetic
Shay's perspective
realization
childish but tries to be serious
boring characters
plot rate is too slow
The huge problem with this game is it’s boring. It had potential, the history is in some way interesting, especially from Vella’s perspective. Esthetic is interesting, cute but IMO it doesn’t fit with the story. Main plot was supposed to be dramatic (or I just interprete authors intention that way) but everything – dialogues, characters interactions and characters themselves are childish. I felt tired from boredom everytime I played ‘Broken Age’. I’m disappointed.
