Tyrants is an fast-paced shoot ’em up, inspired by rail shooters like Starfox 64. In the game, giant monsters called Ultra Beasts have arisen from the Earth and are attacking cities around the globe. The player, a pilot named Ace in Ultra Squadron, must pilot an upgraded biplane on a desperate final attack on the beasts, using their own Ultra Radiation against them! Each level takes place in a different environment and features giant, Godzilla-like monsters that the player must take down.
The game is developed by independent developer Mathew Tomberlin using Unity’s new Entity-Component-System. The 3D models, animations and textures are designed by Mathew Tomberlin. The game has a vague early 1900’s environmental style, including the player’s shiny, red biplane.
