Namco Museum, released on GBA, PS2, XBOX and Gamevube, is a collection of classic Namco games. These are mostly simple arcade games from the 80’s. Namco Museum isn’t something completely new. Compilations of Namco games were released much earlier, mainly for the PlayStation 1. Due to the fact that most games are left unchanged, these versions do not differ much from each other. Here is a full list of games included in this set:
Pac-Man (1979) – This game does not require a more detailed description. We move around the characteristic labyrinth, avoiding ghosts.
Ms. Pac-Man (1981) – The changes compared to the predecessor are minor. This time, we play as Mrs. Pac-Man, crossing a slightly different labyrinths.
Galaxian (1979) – A game similar in many aspects to the famous Space Invaders. Our goal is to exterminate aliens.
Galaga (1981) – A continuation of Galaxian. Once again, the player flies a spacecraft, shooting at the opponents visible on the screen.
Dig Dug (1982) – The player eliminates underground monsters. We do that by throwing boulders or sunking specific corridors.
Pole Position (1982) – One of the most classic racers. We drive a F1 car.
Pole Position II (1983) – Official continuation of Pole Position. The game has new tracks and nicer graphics.
It is worth mentioning that Pac-Man, Galaga and Dig Dug games appear in improved (mainly in terms of graphics) versions. In addition, the PS2 edition is the only one with two additional games, namely Pac-Mania and Pac-Attack.
