Without giving too much of the story away, we will just say that an unlikely hero finds herself in a position, where the fate of humanity lays in her hands… we know, it sounds cheesy, but it is so much more than this! The story does not take itself too seriously. Think of the story as simple and humorous as the one in Plants vs. Zombies – though with a bit more depth.
Essentially, time is falling apart due to an evil computer system called L.I.O.R.A (Life, Intelligence, Operating, Routine, and Assembly) , which happens to have the same name as the main hero of the game. The hero, Liora, finds herself in various “worlds” where she must find all of the time pieces, in order to create a portal to L.I.O.R.A’s chamber of doom. While doing so, she must also defend the last surviving members on Earth by protecting their distinctive homelands.
There are four worlds, each consisting of around five stages. In each stage, Liora must defend the Kingdom of Acadia from an onslaught of enemies in various sizes and shapes (i.e. Orcs – who doesn’t hate them?). When each world is complete, Liora receives one additional missing time piece (or does she? hmm). When Liora is defending the Kingdom in each stage, she not only has her own unique abilities to use when fighting the enemies, but she also has an arsenal of friendlies to use. Liora can also level up her abilities, depending on the skills she decides to learn in one of three classes in the talent tree (Ireful, Bittersweet, Inquisitory). Along the way in her journey, Liora also meets other quirky characters, called companions , which she can control – each unique companion comes equipped with new abilities. The game uses a three-lane movement system , which is very unique to this game genre. As you play the game, enemies may come from either lane, and you have to make sure that Liora as well as her trusty companions are on the same lane as the enemies – or else all is DOOMED!!
In addition, as you play the game, the environment and enemies change (i.e. the time of day). Additional interactivity with the environment allows for the ability to click on certain power-ups, which not only provides a unique and powerful boost, but it’s also reflected by changing the music, as well as providing a bit of interesting history, In addition, the game uses a unique resource system, unlike anything you’ve seen in other TD games – rather than using a “resource collection” system, we want the game to be more of a “resource allocation” system, which is directly tied into the points you receive in each world stage.
