I got many requests for homemade strawberry ice cream recipe last summer. Somehow I could not make it last summer. This summer I started with easy, delicious and creamy mango ice cream recipe and next on the list is super cream, irresistible strawberry ice cream. The base of strawberry ice cream is the same as mango ice cream. I have just replaced the mango puree with fresh strawberry puree. You can add very finely chopped strawberries to the ice cream if you like. I wanted to make a smooth and luscious ice cream, so I have not added any chopped fruit here. The strawberry ice creams you get in India are mostly the artificial ones. Strawberry syrup and colorants are used. So if you are trying this homemade strawberry ice cream for the first you may find it slightly different yet very delicious. Very creamy and tasty with fresh strawberry flavor. This is the best strawberry ice cream to try at home.

To make strawberry ice cream recipe, you just need 4 main ingredients. Strawberry puree, milk powder, fresh cream and sugar. I have added some milk and vanilla but they are optional. Pureed strawberry is blended with milk powder and milk. Then this mixture is folded in the sugar cream mixture. Once done this should be frozen for 4 hours. Once the ice cream is partially set, whip again or just beat well with a fork. Repeat this for 3 times at regular intervals. This is the very important step in making ice cream without ice cream maker. If you want to make creamy ice cream without ice cream maker do not skip this step. Once you have done this beating for 4 times freeze the ice cream mixture for 8 hours. I freeze over night.Vanilla compliments strawberry very well. Milk powder lends a very rich taste and creamy texture to the ice cream. I have used low fat cream here. You can use heavy whipping cream, double cream etc. Do not skip or substitute milk powder with anything.

Once the ice cream is frozen and well set, scoop and serve strawberry ice cream in waffle cones or cups. You can even use this strawberry ice cream to top the sundaes, falooda etc.
