Word Krispies
Word Krispies is a word puzzle game. The player has to create words with
the available letters and submit them. Longer words give more points.
The letters float as cereal flakes on a bowl. Clicking on them or typing
creates a letter sequence at the bowl rim. If it is a valid word of three or
more letters, the selected cereals pulsate and the display on the bowl changes
color. The player can then submit the word by either hitting enter or clicking
on the green submit button. Each word moves the game to the next round and
adds to the red progress bar that must be filled to complete the level.
Unused letters get soggier with time. When they approach disintegration, they
turn red. Every lost cereal decreases the number of available letters. Bonus
rounds offer the chance of increasing the number of letters. They are word
mini-games, like Hangman and Scrabble.
Some cereals have special proprieties. Green cereals appear on the bowl after
the submission of a big word. They never dissolve. A multicolored cereal must
be used immediately, as it disappears after one round. It gives random power-
ups and points. Some cereals have colored marshmallows. Lining them up by
color gives extra points. The bottom of the screen displays a bonus word that
when assembled gives points and progress boosts.
Some levels have specific features. One has a swimming broccoli that suggests
a complex word once it is clicked. Other has bombs that explode and replace
surrounding cereals when clicked. Another has coffee beans that refresh a
soggy cereal. Randomly, a fruit falls on the bowl, and must be collected
quickly for points.
There are two game modes: Classic and Action. In Classic mode, the flakes get
soggier after each word is submitted, while in Action mode the cereal gets
soggier in real-time.
