## Description
_Wally: Land of the Wallows_ is an early game by Mark Essen. It is the sequel
to Wally and the gameplay is fairly identical. After climbing an enormous icy
staircase in the first game, Wally falls asleep. He dreams about being lost in
a world called Land of the Wallows, but he does not even know what a wallow
is. The player has to guide him to get him home.
It is a classical platformer that consists of different levels where Bally
needs to collect red balloons to exit the level. This is done by jumping
platforms and avoiding spikes. Wally can also collect up to five different
keys to open gates, as well as extra lives. In later levels, steam is
introduced (lifts Wally up), bouncing pads, yellow balloons as temporary
platforms, blocks that can only be passed from a certain direction, moving
platforms, and giant balls that can be run on to get past spikes. Larger
levels also contain checkpoints and contain many puzzle elements to get to the
exit and all the balloons. Points are awarded based on the completion time,
and for a set number of points a new life is earned. Each level has a humorous
text introduction.
Many of the original game’s graphics are reused – as well as some of the
levels -, and it includes a level editor to create custom worlds. Many custom
levels are included with the game. It also supports custom skins for Wally
that can be executed using an in-game command line.
