Tau Defense is a tower defense game heavily focused on strategy. You build towers to defend against enemy that wants to steal your Qi. Your tactics to build towers needs to adapt not only changing enemy types, but also changing space. The different mechanisms challenge you to develop better strategy to defend your Qi. The success is not binary, but variable. You can try variety of strategies to max on certain aspect of results. You see these results in the form of kill rate, efficient tower placement to minimize idle time or to elongate enemy path to be longest. All these aspects can be analysed in detailed graphs generated after your gameplay.
