Steam Brigade
When the brave General Mackenzie failed to come back home after confronting
his nemesis Garr he sent a note to his son outlining what he must do. Young
Marshall Mackenzie knew he needed to avenge his father not only for personal
reasons but for the world in its entirety for the villain Garr would continue
his onslaught of destruction and enslave the world. Jumping aboard his
airship, Marshall and the Steam Brigade, start their mission against old Garr
and his minions.
Steam Brigade is a 2D side scrolling real-time strategy game largely
inspired by Rescue Raiders. As Marshall the player controls an unarmed airship
which redistributes units (friendly or enemy) around the playing field via a
chain mounted magnet. The player must get his engineers inside the enemy
factories to destroy them. In order to make a safe journey for them he must
also conquer other level objectives such as bunkers and turrets. As the game
progresses the enemy will also try to do the same to the player. As far as
resources are concerned the only resource available to the player is money,
which is replenished automatically with time. Money is used to buy different
kinds of units, including the airship, should it get destroyed in the middle
of a level.
