Snow Wave: Avalanche is a budget proposal addressed primarily to lovers of winter madness on a board. Although the program does not use the benefits of modern graphic technologies, in return it tempts players with low hardware requirements, substantive content and simplicity of use.
The philosophy of the game resembles a crossroads of uncomplicated agility with a dynamic racing game, maintained in the convention of snowboard struggles. We will not taste the names of real athletes or faithfully reproduced sports arenas. The authors focused rather on providing uncompromising, straightforward gameplay. We have four interesting personalities at our disposal, who not only are able to make good downy white fluff on a board, but also change winter outfits, adjusting their appearance to the given situation.
Snow fun is experienced on six different routes, which are grouped according to their intended use: three of them are used for downhill skiing, two of them are used for real freestyle, and the last one offers a big jump mode. Depending on the selected object, the rules of the game differ, of course. Our main opponents will usually be CPU-controlled rivals (up to four competitors at the same time), but there is an option to race against time and face yourself through a cleverly solved “spirit mode”. (ghost mode).
The program was implemented using a non-demanding graphical engine, offering a three-dimensional third party view (TPP) and support for shading and light sourcing effects, thus combining low minimum requirements with decent visuals.
