## About This Game
Game developed by undergraduate students in the research laboratory ICAD /
VisionLab, of the Computer Science Department of the Pontifical Catholic
University of Rio de Janeiro (PUC-Rio). Interdisciplinary project between the
courses of Computer Engineering, Control and Automation Engineering, Computer
Science and Design.
The teachers can’t even imagine that between classes, the classroom becomes
the stage of an epic confrontation of chalk geometry! The battlefield? The
Chalkboard! Control skillfully illustrated geometric shapes on the chalkboard
and collect all the candies to earn the highest score. But in this mission,
there are many dangers, young champions. Therefore, be very careful not to be
targeted by the various hazards that will appear on the board, making your
mission a struggle for the survival of chalk.
Shape Arena is a multiplayer arena game, in which 4 characters need to collect
candy to increase their score and become the winner. There is no permanent
death or life bar in the game. When touching a dangerous object, the character
disappears for a few seconds and then reappears in the center of the screen.
Upon dying, the character loses 1 point on his score, leaving behind a candy
that can be acquired by other players.
You will control one of the four geometric shapes in this dispute: The mad
Square, the playful Circle; the vain Triangle, or the clever Star. Each of
them has a special ability that helps in their movement and knocks back
opponents as they hit them.
During the match, several hazards, items and events will spawn procedurally,
influencing the pace of the match. Use the skill of each character to get the
best out of the situation! There are the following categories of procedural
elements in Shape Arena:
Items – Appear floating in bubbles. They can be beneficial, like the sword
that eliminates enemies, dangerous, like the skull that takes 1 point off your
scoreboard, or neutral, like the magnifying glass that zooms in on the player
who took it.
Hazards – Elements that will always eliminate a player when they come into
contact.
Events – Events that change how the stage is played.
