Red Feud

The player controls Red Beard, a running, jumping, and slicing protagonist on
a mission to rescue innocent Junior from Fred the sinister clown, who has
kidnapped him. While the motivations are somewhat obtuse, the interface is
practically instinctive; navigating the game’s varied platform environments
(and engaging their varied hostile denizens, including bosses) maintains a
cartoony 8-bit console platform feel down to the refillable heart containers.

Red Beard can’t storm Fred’s castle immediately but must traverse a platformy
landscape of yawning frogs, snoring dragons and banana-hurling monkeys
(ingrates!), completing areas in the right sequence in order to overcome
locked-door puzzles and obtain necessary power-ups.
