Reckon
Reckon is a number matching puzzle game, where you have to create
mathematical equations to achieve this.
When you start a game, you are presented with a playfield consisting of 94
hexagons filled randomly with the numbers 1 to 9. In a separate windows on the
left side, you have a limited amount of addition, subtraction and
multiplication signs available. And you also get a starting number, which is
also randomly chosen.
Your task is now to select a number, choose a sign and a number again,
creating a chain of adjacent numbers (at most 6 cells) and trying to match the
number given. Depending on how accurately you matched the number, you get
points. Then those cells vanish and you get a new number.
You play a game until either you run out of signs to use, or you run out of
adjacent cells (for an equation, you need at least two).
To customize the game, you can change the bonus points limit (which are
awarded if you create an equation fast enough), you can change the cap of the
random number which you target, and you can activate a subtotal display for
the case you aren’t good at mental arithmetic (or to deactivate that for
training, particularly interesting when using a low bonus time value).
