Polanie Remake for AND, PC and iOS is a remake of a popular Polish real-time strategy released in 1996 and developed by MDF, a two-person game development studio led by Miroslaw Dymek. The reedition has been announced in 2014, and according to the authors, the game is a sentimental remake with present-day audio-visuals.
### Plot
The plot has been left unchanged we are introduced to Mirko, head of a local village who is en route back to his home after a lengthy campaign. Unfortunately, it turns out that his destination is no more, as a hostile tribe had razed the village to the ground, provoking the distraught leader to plan revenge against his enemies.
### Mechanics
Polanie Remake for AND, PC and iOS is a real-time strategy that shares certain similarities with the Warcraft series. Our actions are means of achieving two goals building a powerful economy and defeating the opponent in combat. As a result, we gather resources and construct buildings, as well as recruit warriors and lead them in combat. The games economy revolves around milk, which is gathered from cows found in the near vicinity. Milk enables us to recruit workers, who can also serve as military units (e.g. lumberjacks use axes).
### Technical Aspects
The authors of Polanie Remake decided to recreate the specific atmosphere and the unique traits of the cult-classic game, including non-transparent units or the ability to delegate additional workers to speed up the construction process. On the other hand, the visuals and the soundtrack have been created from scratch in order to conform to the present-day standards.
