Pokémon World 3D is a MMO game
You’ve dreamt about this day since you first picked up Pokemon Red & Blue in 1998. The day when you’d be able to roam a complete 3D world as a Pokemon trainer and see the pocket monsters you love roaming that same world with you. The day when you’d be able to interact with other (real-world) trainers in live-action without the use of a link cable, and without having to sit at a Pokemon Center hoping someone would accept your challenge via Wi-Fi. I’m proud to announce that day will soon be here!
Pokemon World 3D (herein referred to as PW3D) is not to be confused with the online battle simulator. PW3D aims to be the world’s first true 3D Pokemon massive multiplayer online role-playing game. Unlike many other Pokemon MMOs that can be found online, PW3D will not be a top-down view of the Pokemon world. Nor will it be a 2.5D version, similar to what’s found in Pokemon X & Y. Pokemon World 3D will feature 100% full 3D in an ambitous full world setting. Players will be able to explore an immersive world (that will span all known regions to-date) with “living”…roaming Pokemon. Random encounters will not be seen in PW3D. Instead players will be able to locate Pokemon…walk right up to them…engage them in battle…and attempt to capture them. Of course, the more rare Pokemon will need to be hunted down. Legendaries will also have a place in PW3D.
Features that will be included are (but not limited to):
* Real-time player versus player battles.
* Gym battling.
* Pokemon capturing, leveling and evolving. (Afterall what would Pokemon be without this?)
* Evolutionary stones…with a new twist.
* A Pokedex for your completion.
* The ability to buy/sell/trade items.
* Breeding!
* World travel. (Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh, Kalos, Unova and many more regions will be yours to explore!)
* Day & Night cycles.
* Pokemon food.
* Mini-quests.
* Contests.
* And much, MUCH more to come!
Pokemon World 3D aims to be as true to the source material as possible. With that said, the game will retain it’s turn-based nature when it comes to Pokemon battles. However, unlike the flat 2D or 2.5D battle screens found on GB, GBC, GBA, DS and some PC mods…the battle system of PW3D will be very similar to that Pokemon Battle Royale where both player and (battling) Pokemon are on the battlefield simultaneously in full 3D with complete battle animations and effects where the Pokemon actually physically respond to what’s happening.
