## Description
_Panda Pai Gow Poker_ is an adaptation of pai gow poker, a card game invented
and popularized in the 1980s’ American casinos. After betting 1, 5, 10, 25 or
50 tokens, the panda will deal seven cards to the player. Using them two hands
must be created: a low hand with two cards, and a high hand with five. To beat
the house, the player must win both hands. There’s also a bonus bet: before
the panda deals the cards, it’s necessary to guess what the outcome will be
(“Win”, “Lose”, or “Push”). If the player guesses correctly, then the little
panda on the left will move up the stairs and pop off a firework. After seven
correct guesses it will reach the top, set off the remaining rockets and
unlock the token reward displayed there. However, after five incorrect answers
the panda will fall back to the base of the stairs, and it will be forced to
start anew. An additional fortune bonus occurs every time the player gets a
high hand, and the rewards are handed out instantly. They can vary from a
lowly 20 tokens for a straight up to 5000 tokens for a seven card straight
flush.
The game uses a deck with 52 cards. The joker plays a special role–it can be
used as an ace, and as a link in a straight, a flush, a straight flush or a
royal flush. All the usual poker hands apply here, with the ace being the card
with the highest value. Since the low hand has only two cards, one can play
only a high card or one pair. Besides these two, the high hand can also have
two pair, three of a kind, straight, flush, full house, four of a kind,
straight flush, royal flush or five aces (four aces plus a joker). The value
of the low hand can never be higher than that of the high hand.
