Monster Truck Fury
Monster Truck Fury takes monster truck racing outdoors, on off-road tracks.
There are six trucks to choose from, and six tracks such as Arizona, Colorado,
the Mojave Desert, Grand Canyon and other courses in desolated areas. Game
modes include Practice, Checkpoint Racing, Car Crushin’ where you hunt down
car wrecks, and Lane Races on regular course tracks. Each race pitches you
against three AI-controlled players. Most tracks only have natural borders and
you are guided by green arrows that point to the right direction and display
the distance to your next target.
All tracks have a desert theme with different weather types. Typically, a
course consists or regular roads combined with mountains, craters, bridges and
a few objects such as houses. There are lots of car wrecks you can use to
jump, and obstacles such as livestock and bushes. The damage to your truck is
visible and also measured in percentages. When in trouble, you can recover at
all times with a penalty of three seconds. In the bottom left corner, you keep
track of objectives, opponents and obstacles on a mini-map.
All race times are stored on scoreboards. Multiplayer consists of head-to-head
split-screen (offline) or online races with four players in total. The game
supports steering wheels with force feedback and gamepads.
