‘Staking out near an intoxicated target to arrest those who steal from them is not entrapment’ (20XX-XX-XX)
A Supreme Court ruling came out that declared that it is not entrapment for the police to not aid an intoxicated person sleeping on the street and instead arrest a thief who was hiding nearby then stole the person’s wallet while pretending to assist him get up. The court ruled that “an indictment against a defendant who willfully decided to act out a crime is not illegal”.
