The Infinite Art Museum is the world’s largest virtual reality gallery of contemporary art – a growing collection with over 500 original paintings, illustrations and photographs from artists all over the world.
The Infinite Art Museum is the world’s largest VR gallery of contemporary art.
50 artists from eighteen countries have contributed over 500 original works of art – all available to view at room scale with the HTC Vive. The levels of the IAM are home to paintings, illustrations and photography from amateur and professional artists who are working and creating right now all over the world. More importantly, the Infinite Art Museum is a living collaboration with more artists joining every week. We will be adding special collections and new artists to this application and to further volumes as the IAM grows.
To move around the Infinite Art Museum either teleport with the track-pad or swing your arms while holding the side grip buttons of the HTC Vive controllers to “walk.” To move forward through levels, break the blue cubes against the floor or walls. To move back, break the red cubes and to return to the index level, break the yellow cubes.
The Infinite Art Museum is:
a free, permanent and perpetually growing global VR archive of art
a way for artists to make their work available to an international audience in VR
a venue for art that does not have the opportunity to be shown in a physical gallery
an educational space where artists can share their creative process
Moving forward we intend to include:
further volumes, each with approximately 50 artists
custom galleries where users curate and include their favorite pieces
a way for users to contact and give feedback to artists
a way for users to buy digital versions or original art directly from artists
an online version of the IAM containing all art and where users can interact
If you are an artist then we invite you to join us in the IAM project. Please get in touch – all are welcome.
If you are an art lover then we encourage you to download the Infinite Art Museum app and start exploring. We will be updating features as quickly as we can and adding new art every month.
