Hunt
Hunt is a cross between a first person shooter game (FPS) and a wilderness
hunting game.
The game begins in a hunting lodge featuring silhouettes on the wall of each
type of trophy possible to collect in the game, including bear, boar, elk,
deer, hare, and turkey. The player, acting as the hunter, embarks on a quest
to collect the trophies. However, before the hunter can have the opportunity,
the player must first find the flagstaff at the end of a FPS wilderness level
filled with wild, ravenous animals intent upon destroying the player. The
player has four weapons: a bow, a crossbow, a rifle, and a shotgun.
Additionally, the player can use binoculars and lay bait for the animals.
When the player reaches the flagstaff, it is time to progress to the hunting
portion, where the player will enter a peaceful wilderness to gun down a
relatively docile example of the same kind of specimen that was menacing him
in the previous level. The player squats in one place and can swivel 360
degrees to locate the trophy animal. The same four weapons are at the disposal
of the hunter in this mode.
The game features a campaign mode that combines both the FPS and hunting
elements. Further, the player can select either the arcade only or hunting
only modes.
