## Description
In _Hellrider_ the player guides a biker through hell to prevent skeletons
from leaving the underground world. The game is played in a side-scrolling
environment with a certain amount of randomization. The scrolling is
randomized as well for each session, from up to down, and left to right, and
vice versa for both, providing four options chosen at random by the computer.
The game consists of several zones, played in succession and with different
themes. After completing a zone the scrolling direction is changed, combined
with a sliding mechanic to prevent the biker from crashing right away.
The biker accelerates automatically and the player only interferes by tapping.
Contrary to the environment, the biker only moves in a diagonal line and
through tapping the direction is changed 90 degrees and back. That way, the
player constantly need to tap to prevent the biker, following diagonal lines,
from crashing into the straight environment. A typical zone consists of rocks,
cacti and other elements that need to be avoided. It is possible to run over
skeletons for bonus points. Oil can make the bike slip and makes it harder to
control. After two zones a boss needs to be defeated. He drops regular bombs
that need to be avoided. Bombs with a green arrow however can be picked up and
thrown to take him out. The boss mechanic is identical for each zone, but he
gradually starts to throw more bombs and needs several hits.
A single hit is deadly and means the entire game needs to be replayed. It is
free-to-play without in-app purchases, but offers advantages through watching
advertisements such as permanent checkpoints and extra lives. Several
characters, with a different look but offering the same gameplay, are also
unlocked through advertisements, as well as a mega bomb.
