## Description
_Grubs_ is a single player, mouse controlled game with three modes of play
and five levels of difficulty.
The three game modes are:
* Puzzle: In this game the player must guide the grub around the screen to a pale blue circle that’s clearly marked ‘GOAL’ within a specified time. The way the grub moves is different to most games, there is a single control and that is the left mouse button. The grub is constantly rotating. When the player clicks the mouse button the grub stops rotating and springs forward in whatever direction it is pointing.
As well as navigating around walls the player must avoid hazards such as
mines, collect keys to undo locked gates, while later levels include magnets
that pull the grub to its doom.
* Race: The race game is for one to four players with the CPU playing . The left mouse button is not used in this game, each player is assigned a single key to control their grub’s movement. As they race around the track they can feed on smaller grubs for energy and collect weapons. The weapons are fired using the same single key that is used for movement, in this case the key is held down until the grub’s head starts to release sparks – the weapon is deployed when the action key is released. The number of laps can be altered in the game configuration options.
* Battle: This game is also for up to four players but CPU does not take part. As with the race mode players can feed on smaller grubs for energy and collect weapons. Movement and firing weapons is implemented in the same way as the race mode. The number of rounds in a battle can be altered in the game’s configuration options.
