Global Conflicts – Latin America
Global Conflicts: Latin America is an educational game which deals with the
political and social situation in South America. The player takes the role of
a reporter who investigates five scandals in different countries, e.g. the
case of a missing girl in Bolivia leads to the subject of modern slavery.
In each chapter there are three locations the player can visit. The gameplay
consists solely of interviews with the people the player meets. During these
interviews he simply chooses the next topic and reads the answers – sometimes
he needs to get further information from another source before he can address
a topic.
The goal is to gather enough information and evidence to confront a final
interview partner, quasi the villain. In these sequences the player needs to
use his evidence at the right moment to put him off his stride. The article
and performance review changes depending on the player’s success. Important to
note is that every move, be it a question or changing the location, costs time
and after a certain time is met the game automatically switches to the final
interview.
