We at Craic Games have taken our favourite parts of much loved shooters and pooled our talents to create Galactic Gear. A throwback to yesteryear when games were fast, simple and action packed. The simplicity of the gameplay means anyone can pick it up and immediately be comfortable in their spacesuit. The learning curve is short enough to entice the casual player, but steep enough to demand the hardcore player for perfection.

Featuring the classic side-scrolling camera to facilitate an unprecedented view of the action as it unfolds, you gain a unique perspective of your battlefield, your foes, and your allies. Sporting classic game modes such as deathmatch, king of the hill and capture the flag; you’ll find yourself in all too familiar battles to gain ground and defend what is yours.

Galactic Gear comes with a fully-fledged map creator to encourage the community driven spirit which drove the industry long before hats and trading were prominent. All players gain the ability to create maps themselves and play the levels offered by the community. Taking cues from classics such as Quake, Unreal Tournament, and Counter-Strike, we’ve endeavoured to deliver a map maker which will see Galactic Gear played by all not only for its unique style but for the creativity it encourages.

As per standard shooter procedure, Galactic Gear currently features multiple primary and secondary weapons for the player to utilise to crush their opponents. We have plans to expand what is currently available to bring more variety and versatility to the player’s kit and continue to improve game balance. The current armoury includes old flames like the assault rifle and pump action shotgun, but also introduces new loves such as the plasma grenade launcher. We’ve worked to equalise the current offering of weapons to invite players to partake without having concerns of entering an arena of overpowered players.

We know how much aesthetics mean to the individual, the player models and weapons are all customisable to separate yourself from the masses. We have plans to expand on this range as the community demand increases. Flair is an important part of competitive play in multiplayer games today and we intend to nurture the essence that is competitive play.
