## Description
_Fisherman’s Delight: Set 1_ is a single player, mouse controlled, shareware
fishing simulation.
The game starts by showing the player none thumbnail pictures representing
seven freshwater and two salt water fishing locations. In each location some
fish predominate, some freshwater locations are trout waters while others have
salmon or bass. The fish distribution is random, they can be at any of three
different depths and one depth will always have more fish than the other two
After the player selects a location they are then taken through a screen on
which they select their rod and line, following this they select their lure
and they begin to fish. There is no animation to speak of in this game, the
scene is a medium resolution static image, occasionally a butterfly can be
seen but what the player has to watch for is a ripple or minor disturbance on
the surface of the water indicating where the fish may be lurking.
When a fish takes the lure the player must hit the Set/Net button quickly,
take too long and the fish will get away. Assuming the hook is set the player
then pounds the reel in’ button until the fish is within netting distance.
Once again they must hit the Set/Net button quickly or the fish will get away.
Once fishing has begun the player may change their rod, line, and lure and can
change location by left clicking to return to the location selection screen.
The game maintains two catch records, one records the last fifty fish caught,
and the second records the best catch for each species of fish.
