Dick Starr: Conquers Mars

****Dick Starr Conquers Mars is a retro-arcade style game designed for Twitch broadcasters that allows users to “crowdplay” via chat.****
If you broadcast your game-play via Twitch.tv, you’re going to want this game. It is designed to engage your viewers by allowing them to affect your game-play. If you haven’t heard of Twitch then go there RIGHT NOW, as it’s very cool and you’ll have a blast! Once the Dick Starr prototype is ready and released, we’ll be starting a second campaign to raise funds for the completion of the full game. We have tons of ideas and each backer will be able to contribute to the project via ideas, levels, design, and sound, depending on backer level.

****Gameplay****
Wave upon wave of menacing Martians with only one goal DESTROY DICK STARR! Maneuver your ultra slick Federation issued retro rocket with caution. Martian technology is superior! Each squadron of enemy ships is followed by the squadron leader, who will be thoroughly !#$@!* if his squadron fails to eliminate you. Don’t fret however for you are Dick Starr, and if that isn’t enough you are aided by your ever faithful spazernauts!

**What is CrowdPlay?** **
CrowdPlay is a multiplayer mechanism based on “Twitch Plays Pokemon” found on Twitch.TV. “Twitch Plays Pokemon” is a massive audience based game where thousands of audience members can control the character using chat commands. This seemingly amazing idea soon devolved into a huge unplayable mess. Imagine thousands of players trying to control one character. The game “Choice Chamber” brought a refreshing level of organization to this audience controlled aspect of gameplay. We are now taking this organized methodology and applying it to our own genre of retro arcade shooters.
****Voting****
Your Twitch.TV audience can aid you during the Martian onslaught by voting for laser upgrades, ship upgrades, and weapon add-ons like heat-seeking missiles, cluster bombs, smart bombs, not-so-smart bombs, and the rare but devastating Gravity Vortex. Majority rules! However you may get troll-voted. Not all the voting options will help you. Some may make you weaker and others will aid the enemy. As the charismatic commander of this mission it’s up to you to rally your viewers.

****The Universe****
We don’t really know the extent of the universe. That will ultimately be decided by the followers. We are still brainstorming on how this can grow, but for now, it won’t end. The goal is to push through as many waves as you can. How you do that though could be in the hands of the Spazernauts. We are planning on many cool and unique enemy ships, many cool and unique waves, and hours of interaction with hundreds of gamers working together.System Requirements: If you run Windows and play any games on your system at all, you’ll have no trouble running Dick Starr.

****Crowdfunding****
We are currently running campaigns on Kickstarter and Indiegog for a prototype release. Backers will receive a functioning prototype which they can crowdplay on Twitch.
