C.A.R.L. is a retro puzzle-platformer in which players take on the role of a lost robot in a mysterious factory to uncover the secrets within its walls and thwart the plans of its mastermind proprietor. Heavily influenced by classic PC games (namely Cave Story, Speedy Eggbert, and Jazz Jackrabbit), C.A.R.L. blends level-based progression with RPG & story elements that make for a clever and satisfying retro romp!
Players are thrust into the shiny metal shoes of C.A.R.L., the Computer-Automated Resource Locator. C.A.R.L. is small, yet daring, automaton whose only directive is to find all the technology he can and return it to his intrepid engineer friend on the outside. The story unfolds as the player explores the factory, unlocks new abilities, and delves ever deeper into the farthest reaches of the facility’s sprawling interior.
The D.U.M.P. (Depot of Unusable Machines and Parts) serves as your world hub and as the home of the defective robots whose insight and support will help you advance through the adventure. C.A.R.L.’s story is based around this core narrative, but progression is handled through segmented level-based sprints in which you hop onto the dangerous production floor and collect the Tech Units within.

* Original Chiptune Soundtrack – 8-bit and DOS-era soundchip-inspired tracks will join you for every step of C.A.R.L.’s journey.
## About Us
“Us” (Two-Bit Interactive) is just me, Andrew. π I’m building C.A.R.L. in my spare time outside of my day job. I’ve been building games as a C# game engineer professionally for a little over 3 years, but I’ve been a hobbyist for more than 10. This game represents my first self-published commercial PC title. Other Steam titles I’ve worked on include Draw a Stickman: EPIC , Draw a Stickman: EPIC 2 , and Battlepillars Gold Edition .
I’ve built C.A.R.L. from the ground up on my own, including design, programming, art, animation, sound, and music. I’ve been prototyping the game since early 2013, and I’m excited to finally show it to the Steam Community! I can’t wait to see what you think, and to hopefully launch on the platform some time later this year. π
