Brick Force
Brick-Force is a multiplayer-only FPS which incorporates some elements from
Minecraft, most notably the blocky look (excluding the player characters and
weapons which have more traditional models) and some level-building. The
traditional multiplayer modes (deathmatch, team deathmatch, defusion and
capture the flag) offer no specialities: players walk around in static maps
(except glass bricks which can be destroyed) and shoot enemies. Players can
build their own maps with the editor – Minecraft -style by walking around in
first-person mode and placing bricks manually – which can be rated by other
players and, if popular, the architect is rewarded with in-game currency. It
can be also earned, along with experience points, by playing successful
matches.
There are two special playing modes which incorporate those building elements:
Build ‘n Destroy are team deathmatch rounds which are separated by building
rounds and Defense Mode is a Tower Defense variant. Both teams build up their
defenses and have to guide their AI monsters to the target points within the
enemy base. There are some special blocks to use like gravity-shifters,
explosives or vertical/horizontal boosters.
Brick-Force is a free-to-play game and supports itself with an item shop
where players can buy items. Many of those items can be bought with the in-
game currency (force points), but of course there is also a second currency
(tokens) bought with real money. Like most game of those kind, the exact items
for sale change over time, but most of them are new equipment (e.g. weapons)
and optical accessories. Also for sale are gems which are used to upgrade
items. They are available in three sizes (the bigger the pricier; which size
the player has to use depends on the character level), are applied randomly to
an item in either the weapon or clothing category and have a chance to fail.
Elite gems have to be bought with tokens and have none of the above downsides.
The in-game currency also has to be spent to repair degrading weapons.
