Ancient Egypt
Ancient Egypt begins with a short educational slideshow on the history and
culture of ancient Egyptian civilization, starting from around 3100BC, in the
time of King Menes. The software does a quick and painless review of some
basic elements of Egypt’s geography and how it led to the rise of great cities
in the Nile Valley, leading into discussion of the hierarchy of ancient
Egyptian society. It also touches upon key things that we associate with the
place and time period: pyramids, mummies, hieroglyphs, the Pharaohs.
Clicking on the screen at any time during the presentation will take you to
the activities page, and a series of ancient Egypt-flavored mini-games and
puzzles – connect-the-dots, picture jumble, concentration, word searches,
crossword puzzles, and a coloring page, all reflecting various areas of life
along the Nile. Each activity page shows you three large buttons on the right,
one for returning to the main menu, one for Help, and one to bring up the next
puzzle.
