## Description
_Academagia_ is a simulator of a life of a first-year student that combines
both elements of choose-your-adventure text games as well as an RPG-like
training of skills needed to complete your adventures or succeed in random
events that may happen to you during your stay. Forging friendships, currying
favor with your instructors, learning the magic arts and unlocking hidden
skills and locations will play a major part in how well goes your first year.
Adventures and training to complete them is the main point of the game.
Adventures are entirely text based (but some have illustrations) and can vary
in importance – from helping your friend to get a better grade to helping your
headmaster protect Academagia – but all have several parts and several paths
to complete them. A large mix of well trained skills is crucial to be able to
choose the surest path to emerge victorious, but even an untrained student can
use magic or perform the adventure in an enchanted location to boost their
skills high enough to succeed. A success in any step of an adventure will
often provide some minor benefit to your character and those who finish all
parts of a single adventure will gain some major bonus. Failure, on the other
hand, will cause harm that could be often rested away, and you may still have
the option to retry when you are better prepared. Overall there are over 100
adventures that are unlocked depending on the college you enroll in, your
familiar, the class you take, the friends you make as well as other, hidden
factors. Going on adventures, encountering any of the 800 random events, as
well as studying lore all reveal a glimpse of the magical world in which
Academagia is located.
The 80 different boys and girls of Academagia can be helpful or hostile. Some
bullies may attack and steal from you without provocation, while other
students may try to befriend you and help you on their own accord. Diplomacy
and classroom politics could be just as important to you as your academic
studies. Each student is unique in their attitude, preferences, abilities and
benefits they provide if you form a close friendship.
Students can amplify their many spells with a very large host of magical
components, learn to forge helpful items, earn money to buy useful equipment
and perform many more actions as they learn and grow as young wizards.
