Spelunky is an action adventure game centered around the exploration of a series of caves while collecting treasure, saving damsels in distress, and dodging traps. Spelunky draws elements from the roguelike genre,[1] using randomly-generated levels, being a dungeon crawl, lacking any savepoints, having frequent and easy deaths, and having discovery mechanics. It draws equally from the 2D platformer genre,[1] including real-time interactions with enemies.
