is a dynamic RTS belonging to the popular tower defense trend. The whole was developed by an independent studio Calibre Games, for which this is the first title designed for more demanding players. Previously, the team created simple casual games.
Players include command over a highly developed breed of super ants. Their existence is threatened by hordes of robotic insects, which will not retreat from anything to destroy our colonies. To prevent this, an elite group of ants is sent on a mission to reach where the insects multiply. Access to this place, however, defends a lot of mechanized vermin, which we will first have to defeat.
Cuanatun is a typical tower defense production. The campaign was divided into a number of independent missions. In each of them you have to cope with the approaching waves of more and more numerous and more demanding opponents, trying to get to our base. We accomplish this task by building defensive structures. These include turrets attacking approaching enemies and objects slowing down their march. All buildings can be improved, thus increasing their capabilities and combat potential. The key to victory is not only the use of powerful turrets, but also the positioning of our structures to extend the enemies’ path to our base as much as possible. It is worth mentioning that the authors did not forget about multiplayer.
The game was created based on Unreal Engine 3 technology under the UDK license. Combined with an interesting visual style, this enabled the Calibre Games team to achieve an eye-catching and detailed graphics, despite the small budget that the independent studio had at their disposal.
