If you are close enough friends with a villager, that villager might give you his or her picture! The picture is a piece of furniture that you can put into your house. Every animal has its own special message that it writes on the picture, which you can see if you touch the picture while it is somewhere in your house.
For a villager to give you his or her picture, you have to be really good friends with that villager. Try to send letters with attached gifts to your villager frequently. Talk to the villager a lot, and always agree to run errands for the villager, and help the villager satisfy his or her hobby.
Step two: wait around while your villager is outside
A villager that is walking outside might give you his or her picture, if your friendship is strong enough. The way that it works is, if the villager is walking outside and sees you, you should go to some area of town where the villager can’t see you for about fifteen minutes (just walk behind a building that isn’t near where the villager is walking).
Step three: walk up to your villager after fifteen minutes or so
If your villager has seen you outside already, but has not seen you in a while, then if you go up to that villager after staying away for about 15 minutes, the villager will look surprised (with three white lines appearing above its head) and will run up to you, looking like he or she wants to talk to you. The villager MIGHT give you his or her picture then. But the villager might not. It’s random. If the villager talks about sending letters, or shows you a letter, then you might want to send some more letters to that villager to increase your chance of getting the villager picture.
The lazy villager bug
In male villagers who have the lazy personality (they are the ones who talk about food a lot), there is a bug where the lazy villager will come up to you and say some things that make it sound like he think that he already gave you his picture, but he never has. This means that you will not be able to get that villager’s picture with the character currently talking to him, unless that villager moves away and then comes back someday. This is a known bug, and the only way around it is to play the game as a different character and try to build up friendship with that lazy villager and hope that the villager doesn’t forget to give you the picture!
Perfect Snowman Guide
In the winter, in Animal Crossing: Wild World, it is possible to build a snowman! You can only build the snowman on days when the ground is white with snow. It is only possible to build two snowmen per day on such a day. It does not need to actually be snowing to build a snowman; just a snow-covered ground is sufficient.
You an make a snowman using two snowballs. There will conveniently be two snowballs somewhere in your town on a winter day. To create a snowman, just push one snowball on top of the other. However, if you make a perfectly-proportioned snowman, the snowman will be so happy that he will send you a piece of snowman furniture in the mail. This is the only way to get snowman furniture. Keep reading this guide to find out how to make the perfect snowman.
When the ground is white with snow in your Animal Crossing: Wild World town, you will be able to find two snowballs in town. They are in random places on snowy ground (not dirt). They will usually just be sitting there, but sometimes there will be a dung beetle trying to roll the snowball away. In that case, you can either catch the dung beetle or just walk up to the snowball and push it a little in order to make the dung beetle fly away. Be sure to memorize the locations of the snowballs so you can find them later.
Next, make the snowballs bigger
When you find the snowballs, you will see that they are very small. You cannot make a snowman with them in that state, so you have to push the snowballs along snowy ground to make them bigger.
When the snowballs are at their smallest size, you are only able to kick them around. Be careful not to kick them into a hard object or into water. If they hit a hard object with too much force, they will break apart and disappear. If they fall into water, they melt and disappear. Going inside of a house or saving and continuing the game will make a new snowball appear somewhere in town to replace the one you lost.
After kicking a small snowball along the snowy ground for a while, it will be come big enough that you can no longer kick it; you must push it with your hands instead. It is much easier to control once it is this size. Push the snowballs to the same general area of the town, but don’t push one on top of the other yet. You have to make the snowballs the perfect proportions to make a perfect snowman!
Changing the size of a snowball
After pushing a snowball around on snowy ground, it will eventually reach a point of being so big that it does not get any bigger. One of the snowballs has to be a different size in order to have the correct proportions for a perfect snowman, so you need some way to make the snowball smaller. You can make a snowball smaller by rolling it around on dirt (as opposed to snowy ground).
Make the snowballs just the right size for making a perfect snowman
The snowball that you push toward the other one will be on the top of the snowman. It becomes the snowman’s head. For a perfectly proportioned snowman, the top snowball should be just a little bit smaller than the bottom one. If you make the top snowball too small, the snowman will not be a perfect snowman. My advice is to roll the snowball downward and look at your character to get an idea of how big each snowball is. If you make one snowball that comes up to your character’s chin, and then another snowball that comes up to your character’s nose, then you can use the chin-height snowball as the snowman’s head, and the nose-height snowball as the snowman’s body. Remember: making a perfect snowman is easiest if you make the body snowball as big as possible.
Say hello to your snowman!
When you think that you have made the snowballs just the right size, push the smaller one toward the bigger one, and it will automatically hop on top of the bottom snowball. Then a carrot nose and charcoal eyes and mouth will magically appear on the snowman’s face. You can now talk to your snowman! Based on what the snowman says to you, it will probably be pretty obvious whether your snowman considers himself to be perfect or not. If he thinks that he is perfect, he will be really happy and say how perfect he thinks he is. If he is not quite right, he will not be as happy as that.
Receive snowman furniture
If your snowman is a perfect snowman, you will receive a letter on Snowman Paper in the mail from the snowman the next time the mail is delivered. The letter will thank you for making the snowman perfect. He will also include a randomly-chosen piece of snowman furniture. The Snowman Set is a set of furniture that includes a bed, chair, clock, dresser, fridge, lamp, sofa, table, TV, wallpaper, carpet, and wardrobe. Making perfect snowmen is the only way to get this furniture set. Each piece in the set is worth 8,888 Bells if you sell it in Tom Nook’s store. (Note that the number 8 is snomwan-shaped!)
More Snowman Information
After you make a snowman, it will melt after a while and become smaller, just like a real snowman. It will eventually disappear. You can make up to two snowmen per day, and their letters will arrive the next time the mail gets delivered. Mail arrives at 9AM and 5PM each day, unless villager letters force the mail to arrive sooner than that.
Acorn Festival Guide
The Acorn Festival is a chance to get special furniture and items by giving acorns to Cornimer.
The Acorn Festival is a special event that takes place on the second week of October. During the Acorn Festival, check under the non-fruit, non-pine trees in your town every day, because some of them might have three acorns below them. Be sure to keep the ground clear around your trees, because if there are things on the ground where the acorns would appear, an acorn can’t appear there and you’ll lose a potential acorn. Collect the non-rotten acorns and give them to Cornimer, who stands outside of the Town Hall. Just talk to him and he will ask if you have any acorns to give him. Say that you do, and then you can move your acorns from your inventory into Cornimer’s inventory. If you give him any rotten acorns in a batch, he will throw away all of the acorns in that batch, so be careful!
How do I get ready for the Acorn Festival?
Plant as many non-pine, non-fruit trees in your town as possible before the week of the acorn festival. Make sure each acre in your town has at least one non-pine, non-fruit tree, to maximize your chances of getting acorns. The acorns will appear randomly, so the more trees you have, the more likely it is that you will get lots of acorns.
What do I do with the acorns?
Cornimer stands outside of the Town Hall every day during the Acorn Festival, and he wants non-rotten acorns. You can give him batches of acorns. Just don’t put any rotten acorns into the batch, or Cornimer will throw out the entire batch!
Cornimer will give you Mush Furniture in return for the acorns. The Acorn Festival is the only way to get the Mush Furniture (unless someone else gives some to you!) Here is how it works:
|How many acorns to give||Furniture you will get|
|Give Cornimer 5 acorns||Mushroom Stool|
|Give Cornimer 5 more acorns (for a total of 10)||Mushroom End Table|
|Give Cornimer 15 more acorns (for a total of 25)||Mushroom Lamp|
|Give Cornimer 15 more acorns (for a total of 40)||Mushroom Chair|
|Give Cornimer 20 more acorns (for a total of 60)||Mushroom Dresser|
|Give Cornimer 20 more acorns (for a total of 80)||Mushroom Closet|
|Give Cornimer 20 more acorns (for a total of 100)||Mushroom Stand|
|Give Cornimer 20 more acorns (for a total of 120)||Mushroom Table|
|Give Cornimer 20 more acorns (for a total of 140)||Mushroom TV|
|Give Cornimer 30 more acorns (for a total of 170)||Mushroom Bed|
|Give Cornimer 30 more acorns (for a total of 200)||Forest Wall|
|Give Cornimer 30 more acorns (for a total of 230)||Forest Floor|
Bug Off Guide
The Bug Off is a competition between you and your Animal Crossing: Wild World neighbors to catch the biggest bug. After catching a bug, you turn it in to Tortimer, who stands outside of the Town Hall throughout the competition. He will tell you if your bug is the biggest so far. A neighbor might turn in a bigger bug after you turn in yours, though.
There are four Bug Off competitions per year. They take place during the summertime, on the third Sunday of June, July, August, and September. The contest begins at Noon on those days, and ends at 6PM.
How do I win the bug off?
Winning the Bug Off is as simple as having a bigger bug to give to Tortimer than any of your other villagers. The best way to win is to turn in a bug that is one of the biggest types available in the game (see the list below).
How do I turn in my bugs?
Tortimer will stand outside of the Town Hall during the contest. If you have a bug in your pockets, you can talk to Tortimer, say you caught a bug, then choose the bug that you want to give to him. Tortimer will keep the bug, so be sure not to give Tortimer a bug that you were hoping to keep! Tortimer will tell you how big your bug was, and will tell you if yours is the biggest one so far, or if a neighbor has turned in a larger bug.
Be sure to talk to Tortimer again from time to time before 6PM, because he will tell you if a neighbor has turned in a bigger bug than you have. Sometimes it is in your best interest to give Tortimer your bug shortly before 6PM, to reduce the chance of a neighbor handing in a bigger bug.
What are the biggest bugs in the game?
Each type of bug in the game has an average size, but its real size is a random number somewhere close to that average. The only way to find out a bug’s size is to give it to Tortimer during the Bug Off. The following bugs are the biggest in the game:
- Oak Silk Moth: average 280mm (not available during the contest time)
- Birdwing Butterfly: average 260mm
- Scorpion: average 160mm (not available during the contest time)
- Hercules Beetle: average 160mm (not available during the contest time)
- Atlas Beetle: average 120mm (not available during the contest time)
- Elephant Beetle: average 115mm (not available during the contest time)
- Emperor Butterfly: average 115mm
- Peacock Butterfly: average 105mm
- Tiger Butterfly: average 90mm
- Banded Dragonfly: average 90mm
- Goliath Beetle: average 90mm (not available during the contest time)
- Monarch Butterfly: average 85mm
- Walkingstick: average 85mm
- Mantis: average 82mm
Note that some of these bugs cannot be caught during the contest time. In particular, the biggest bug in the game, the Oak Silk Moth, cannot be caught during the contest. You can catch an Oak Silk Moth ahead of time and keep it in your house until the time of the contest. Tortimer will accept it.
Flea Market Guide
The flea market gives you a chance to by your villagers’ stuff and sell your stuff to them.
The flea market is a special event where you can ask to buy other villagers’ furniture, and they can ask to buy yours. You are allowed to set the price for how much you are willing to sell the furniture for, but the villagers might not want to pay the amount that you’re asking. Similarly, villagers will set the price that they want to get in exchange for their furniture. Sometimes you won’t be able to get the deals that you want at the flea market, but it’s worth a try.
When is the flea market?
It occurs on the first Saturday of a few specific months. It starts at 6AM and lasts until 6AM the next day.
Where to go to sell your items
To sell items, just stay in the main room of your house, and throughout the day you will get random visits from villagers in your town. Every villager will come to your house, but each villager only visits once. Every character that you have in your game will get one visit from a villager on Flea Market day. But if a villager is sick, or in the process of moving in or out, then that villager will not participate.
How to Prepare before the Flea Market
The villager will only try to buy things from the main room in your house, so before the flea market, you should consider removing the furniture items from the main room that you do not want to sell.
How to sell things for high prices
The maximum that a villager will pay for an item is three times the sale price, but this depends on how good your friendship is with each villager. If you do not have a good relationship with a villager, you will not be able to sell your items for that much.
How to sell more than three things
Normally, a villager will stop buying stuff after buying three things. But you can make the villager buy more things if you leave the main room and come back again. However, this only works if you have had at least one expansion to your house. It won’t work if you go into the attic.
What should I sell?
Animals are attracted to more rare and expensive items. Fossils are often a good choice.
What can I buy from villagers?
If you go into an animal’s house, and that villager tells you that he or she is selling stuff for the flea market, that means that you can tap on any furniture item in the room and ask if you can buy it. Sometimes the villager will say no, but you can exit and try again, and the villager might decide to sell it to you after all. But sometimes there are items in a villager’s house that the villager will not sell to you, no matter what. Villagers can have very rare items in their houses, like Spotlight items, so don’t miss the opportunity to get a rare item!
Special Visitors List
Every day in your town, you can expect a special visitor to randomly pass through your village. The special visitors often bring special items and services that you can only get while they’re there, so you should look for them!
You can only have one special visitor walking around outside in town at a time. You might find some special visitors in indoor locations at the same time, though.
Read the Roost café visitors guide to find out about meeting the characters who visit the Roost.
Here is a list of the special visitors, with a brief summary of when they appear. Below that you’ll find more detailed descriptions of the visitors.

Details about the Special Visitors
You will always get a visit from Crazy Redd during the week. Before Crazy Redd shows up, he will send you a letter to let you know what his secret password is. Crazy Redd will show up on a random day between Monday through Friday, UNLESS you speak to Lyle and tell him which day you want Crazy Redd to visit on. If you have done that, then
Katie or Kaitlin, temporarily separated mother and daughter cats
Read the Katie and Kaitlin Guide to learn more about them.
Katrina, the fortune-telling cat
Katrina will be in front of the town hall in a tent, around where Crazy Redd puts his tent. Katrina will give you a compatibility fortune or a luck fortune. With the compatibility fortune, you just enter the name of a person that you like, and Katrina will say whether she thinks that you are compatible with that person or not. With the luck fortune, Katrina will read some tarot cards and will tell you if you will have good luck or bad luck that day. If you get a bad luck fortune, you will trip and fall pretty frequently. Good luck doesn’t seem to have any effect.
Gracie, the giraffe fashionista
Gracie is a fashionista, which means that she will critique your clothing and fashion sense. Not only that, but if you answer her questions about fashion, she will give you a Fashionista Badge (in the form of a letter). If she thinks your style is bad, she will give you a moldy shirt. If she thinks your style is so-so, she will give you a Subdued Print. If she likes your fashion sense, you just get the fashionista badge with no shirt attached.
Also, if you keep talking to her a bunch of times, she will eventually prompt you to give her some money. You can give her up to 8,000 Bells, and she will give you a style makeover. That means that she will give you some random clothing, often including a Gracie exclusive shirt that you can’t get anywhere else.
Saharah, the carpet salescamel
Saharah is a camel from a distant desert who has come to your town to deliver carpets and wallpaper that animals in your town ordered. Unfortunately for her, she forgot her map, so she asks you to make the deliveries in her stead. The deliveries are always to animals who are always in the town, like Tom Nook, Pelly, Mabel, and Blathers, for example. The deliveries are never to the villagers who come and go.
In return for making her deliveries, Saharah shows you a specific wallpaper and a specific carpet that she randomly chooses from her exclusive collection, and you can choose either the wallpaper or the carpet. This is the only way to get these wallpapers and carpets.
Wendell, the starving walrus artist
Wendell the walrus is an artist who wanders to your town and is very hungry. If you give him any kind of food, he will give you a pattern in return. The pattern that you get depends on the type of food that you give him. You can give Wendell anything edible, including fruits, fish, acorns, and turnips, among other things. The patterns that he gives you can be placed on the ground outside, used as wallpaper or carpet indoors, used for clothing, and so on. Once you give him some food, he will not accept any more food.
Pascal, the philosophizing sea otter
Pascal arrives in your town from the ocean, so Booker won’t know about him. He stands on the beach, contemplating life. If you talk to him, he will share some of his deep thoughts with you, and then will give you a piece of furniture from the Pirate Set. Talking to Pascal is the only way to get pirate furniture. After he gives you the furniture, he will dive into the ocean and swim away until next time.
Dr. Shrunk, axolotl psychologist
Dr. Shrunk is an axolotl, which is a type of salamander. Dr. Shrunk is a psychologist who moonlights as a stand-up comedian. Dr. Shrunk will ask you about your emotions, and if you say that you’re in a slump, Dr. Shrunk will suggest some emotions to work on. What this really means is that Dr. Shrunk will give you some emotion animations for you to display from the chat keyboard menu. If your keyboard gets filled up with emotions, Dr. Shrunk will give you the option of getting rid of one of the existing emotions and replacing it with one from Dr. Shrunk’s list.
Gulliver, the space seagull
Gulliver flies through the air in a UFO. Booker is not able to know if Gulliver is going to visit. He won’t report any visitors for the day, and there will be no hints or anything that Gulliver is coming. Typically, Gulliver’s UFO passes by within the first 15 or 20 minutes that you start playing. I have read that Gulliver shows up when the ones digit of the minutes on the clock is a certain value, but I have not confirmed this. To get Gulliver down from the UFO, you must run up to the top of the town and shoot the slingshot at the UFO. The UFO will come crashing to the ground, and Gulliver will make a crash landing in one of the vacant lots in town (a spot that has a sign and would have a house on it if a villager lived there).
Look at the screen after Gulliver lands to try to figure out where he crashed, then go to that spot and talk to him until he wakes up (he will mutter some nonsense for a while). When he wakes up, he will ask you to go find the missing parts of his ship. There are five missing parts in total, each of which looks like a metal gearwheel. It is OK to save and end the game at this point; Gulliver will still be there. Once you collect the five pieces, bring them to Gulliver and he will give you a rare item in return. Then he will work on repairing his UFO.
Blanca, the faceless cat
Blanca appears randomly after you have opened and closed your gate. Blanca can show up multiple times a week. If there is already a special visitor in town, Blanca will not show up. Blanca does not prevent any visitors from appearing, except Pete.
Pete, the mail-delivering pelican
Pete flies through the sky at either 9AM or 5PM on two random days of the week, delivering the mail. You can run up to the top of the screen and shoot him with a slingshot. He will fall to the ground, and you can talk to him.
What is the Roost Café?
The Roost Café is a small cafe in the museum in your Animal Crossing: Wild World town. The door is at the bottom-right corner of the main room in the museum (where Blathers hangs out). There is a sign pointing to the door with a picture of a cup of coffee on it.
Who can I meet in the Roost?
Some of the special characters in your town will come to visit the Roost on certain days of the week at certain times. The characters that you can meet there are Harriet, Kapp’n, Lyle, Pelly, Phyllis, and Rover.
When can I meet these characters?
Please check out the following table to see the times and days to meet the different Roost visitors.
|Harriet (only if you have Nookington’s)||Monday through Friday||11PM to Midnight|
|Kapp’n||Every Day||Noon to 1:30PM and 2:30PM to 4PM|
|Lyle||Sundays||Noon to 1:30PM|
|Pelly||Every Day||6AM to 6:55AM|
|Phyllis||Every Day except Saturday||9PM to 9:55PM|
|Resetti||Sundays||2:30PM to 4PM|
|Rover||Every Day||Noon to 1:30PM and 2:30PM to 4PM|
What else can I do in the Roost?
In the Roost, you can sit at the coffee bar to talk to Brewster. He will offer to give you a cup of coffee. You can only have one cup of coffee a day; if you try to talk to Brewster from the bar again, he will ask you how your cup of coffee was. If you keep visiting Brewster for coffee every day for a while, your relationship with Brewster will become more friendly, and he will say more things when you get coffee from him. If you are good friends, he might even offer to put some pigeon milk into your coffee. If you say yes, Brewster will be happy. Also, be sure to drink your coffee while it’s hot, or Brewster will be unhappy!
Blanca is a mysterious cat whose face you can draw on.
To get Blanca to show up in your town, use the phone in the attic of your house and say that you are OK with visits from the mysterious cat. Next, just connect to Nintendo WFC and open your gate. You don’t need to have visitors come from other towns. After you close your gate, look around your town. You might find Blanca wandering around somewhere outside.
How do I draw a face?
When you agree to draw Blanca’s face, it’s just like drawing a pattern in the Able Sisters’ store. Choose a color set at the bottom, choose a tool from the toolbar on the right, and draw in the center. Remember that if you choose a different color set, the colors in your current drawing will change to match the color set. You can’t mix colors from different sets.
Who is Blanca the cat?
Nobody really knows. Blanca is a mysterious cat (THE mysterious cat, according to the phone in your attic) who might show up in your town after you connect to the Nintendo WFC. Blanca wears a dress, so she seems to be a girl, but maybe that’s part of the disguise….
What’s wrong with Blanca’s face?
Blanca seems to want to hide her identity, so if you talk to her, she invites you to draw a new face for her. Before you do, you can take a look at her face to see what someone in some other town has drawn there. If you talk to Blanca, she’ll tell you who it was who drew her current face, and what town she had her face drawn in.
List of K.K. Slider Songs
The following is a list of songs that you can get from K.K. Slider. This list shows every song that K.K. Slider knows. This is the complete list. It includes all of the hidden songs.
How to Request a Song
You can request one of these songs by name for K.K. to play. Be sure to type the name exactly as it appears here. Don’t put a space between the first K. and the second K. For accented letters, tap on the accent button that is above the standard keyboard to reveal the accented letters keyboard.
K.K. will randomly choose from this list if you do not make a specific request. If you request a song that he does not know, he will play ‘My Place’. However, there are a few songs from this list that K.K. will only play by request. In other words, those few songs are not going to be randomly chosen when K.K. chooses the song.
After K.K. finishes his performance, you will have a copy of the song in your pockets. It looks like a musical note. If you have a piece of furniture in your house that plays music, you tap that piece of furniture, then when the music playlist shows up, you can press the plus sign button on the left and you will be able to look in your pockets for a song to add. You can choose the song and it will be added to your play list.

Joan, the Turnip Seller
Joan is a warthog who sells turnip seeds. Growing turnips can be a great way to make large amounts of money, but it’s kind of a gamble. She leaves town after 12pm on Sunday, so be sure to wake up on time if you want to buy turnips from her.
Lyle, the Insurance Salesman
Lyle is a weasel who sells you a very shady insurance policy. He always hangs around your house on Saturday. The insurance policy will pay you 100 bells every time you get stung by a bee (which isn’t very good, considering that if you caught the bee and sold it, you’d get 4500 bells), and you get 100 bells if Crazy Redd sells you a forged painting. Lyle is generally considered to be “in cahoots” with Crazy Redd. Lyle does at least let you choose the day when Crazy Redd appears in your town.

K.K. Slider is a guitar-playing dog whose music just wants to be free. He will be in The Roost, which is the café in the Museum, every Saturday night. He will play a song for you. You can either request a song (if you know the names of his songs, which you might from a neighbor’s music player), or he’ll just play a random song for you. After his performance, you can talk to K.K. to get a copy of the song.
Wendell the walrus might visit your town, and he’s really hungry. Depending on the food you give him, he will give you a different pattern You can use the patterns to place on the ground, or use as wallpaper, a shirt, a hat, and so on.

Katie and Kaitlin Guide
Katie and Kaitlin are special visitors that might appear after you have visited another player’s town with Nintendo WFC. Kaitlin is the mother cat, and Katie is the daughter.
How to find out where to go
If Kaitlin is in your town, she will tell you the name of the town where she got separated from Katie, as well as the name of the player who lives in that town. But if Katie is in your town, you’ll just have to hope that the person who has Kaitlin will contact you about meeting up so that you can take Katie back to her Mom.
How to reunite Katie and Kaitlin
Whoever has Katie (the daughter) will need to talk to her, then walk her into the town gate. Be sure to walk slowly so that Katie can keep up with you. She is very young and small, so she can’t walk quickly. If you go too quickly, she might trip and fall, and you’ll have to go back and talk to her to get you to follow again.
Once you’re in the gate, talk to Copper to open the gate and visit the town where Kaitlin (the mother) is waiting. When you open the gate successfully, you will see a cut scene of Katie and Kaitlin being reunited. Be sure to save the game after this happens to prevent having to do it all over again if something goes wrong.
Do I get a reward?
Once you reunite the cats, you get a present in the mail from them. These are special items that you can only get by reuniting Katie and Kaitlin. Here is a list of all Katie and Kaitlin furniture.
What if I don’t have access to my friend’s town anymore?
If you are unable to visit your friend’s town anymore and you have Katie or Kaitlin, you will just have to wait for them to go away. I’m not sure how long it takes, but they do leave after a while.
This page explains how to obtain the golden shovel, which lets you bury certain types of items in the ground that you can’t bury with the regular shovel.
A golden shovel, unlike the regular shovel, has a powerful special ability. The golden shovel will allow you to bury bags of money in holes that you dig in the ground. You can bury any sized bag of money with the golden shovel. Dragging the stylus from your money bag in your pocket view will prompt you to choose an amount ofmoney to put in a bag. A bag of money that you bury will turn into a tree, and there is a possibility that the tree will have money bags growing on it! The larger the amount of money that you bury, the more likely it is that you will grow a money tree. See the (not yet written) money tree guide for more information.
Step One: Buy Two Shovels
The first step to getting a golden shovel is to have two shovels. Yeah, it seems like maybe it is kind of a waste to have to buy two shovels to get one golden shovel, but I have never figured out any way to get the golden shovel without using a second shovel. I guess you could have a friend with a shovel come to visit your town and help you out. But, really, at that point, you are kind of putting a little too much effort into getting a golden shovel, maybe.
You need to go to Tom Nook’s store to buy shovels. That is the only place where you can buy shovels. Tom Nook always sells tools, but he might not have a shovel in stock every day. The tool selection in Tom Nook’s shop changes each day, so just keep on checking Tom Nook’s shop for shovels, and buy one if you do not yet have two shovels. Once you have two shovels, you are ready to move on to the next step.
Step Two: Bury a Shovel
The next step in getting a golden shovel is to bury one of your shovels under the ground. You could theoretically do this step without having two shovels, because there are occasionally Pitfall Seeds buried in town, which will make a hole if you or a villager steps on it. So if you walk on a pitfall seed, you would create a hole, and then you could just walk up to the hole and go into your pockets and tap on a shovel, and you would have the option of burying it. But then you would need to kick the dirt over the shovel, and you would not have a way of opening up that hole again. You would need a shovel to do it.
So, anyway, using one of your shovels, dig a hole in the ground, anywhere you like. As mentioned in the paragraph before this one, you also have the option of walking on top of a buried pitfall seed and jumping out of the hole and using that to bury your shovel, or waiting for a villager to fall into a pitfall and using that as the hole. Whichever method you use for digging the hole, it is a good idea to bury your shovel in a place where you will remember where it is. You do not need to water it after burying it. Just leave it there.
Step Three: Wait 24 hours, then dig up your shovel
Now, all you need to do is wait a full day (24 hours), leaving the shovel buried underground. Then, after it has been 24 hours, you can go ahead and use your second shovel to dig up the buried one. If you left the shovel underground for at least 24 hours, the shovel that you dig up will have transformed into a golden shovel. How does the shovel turn golden just by being buried? Who knows. I guess the very ground in your Animal Crossing: Wild World town has magic powers. Or something.
Golden Fishing Rod
The golden fishing rod is a rare item that allows you to more easily catch fish.
All you need to do to get the golden fishing rod is to catch every type of fish.
What does the golden fishing rod do?
The golden fishing rod makes it much easier to catch fish, because the fish don’t nibble on the bobber like they do with a normal fishing rod. They just get hooked as soon as they bite it. You also have a longer period of time to pull up the fishing line before the fish gets away.
Golden Bug Net
The golden bug net is a rare item that allows you to more easily catch bugs.
All you need to do to get the golden bug net is to catch every type of bug. Once you have done that, the game will tell you that you have just caught the last type of bug that you need for a complete collection. The next day, Tortimer will be outside of your house. Talk to him and he will give you the golden bug net.
What does the golden bug net do?
The golden bug net has a bigger opening for the net, making it easier to catch bugs. You don’t need to cast the net as precisely as you did with the normal bug net.
Golden Watering Can
To get a golden watering can in Animal Crossing: Wild World, you need to have a perfect town for 15 days. Read the Perfect Town Guide for more information.
