Gameplay carries on from previous games, in which players use a portal to bring real-life collectible figures of the titular Skylanders into their game. The game is compatible with all the Skylanders from Spyro's Adventure and Giants, and all characters now have the ability to jump. Along with sixteen new core characters, Swap Force introduces sixteen new Swap Force characters, featuring characters such as Wash Buckler and Magna Charge. These characters are each made up of two individual parts that can be interchanged to create up to 256 different combinations.
