Tunguska: The Visitation is an action game created by an independent studio Rotorist Workshop. Title inspired by the cult S.T.A.A.L.K.K.E.R. series. was developed with the PC platform in mind.
### Story
On 30 June 1908, a powerful explosion took place on the Podkamienna Tunguska River in central Siberia, seen within a radius of 650 kilometres from the place of the event and heard at a distance of 1000. The explosion not only knocked down trees within a radius of 40 kilometres, but also caused an extremely strong shock felt on the whole Earth. To this day this catastrophe remains largely a mystery, which was used by the creators of the game Tunguska: The Visitation described here.
Production takes us to an alternative reality in which the area of the meteorite impact (which is the most probable solution to this puzzle) has been transformed into a Zonah contaminated with radiation. It is afraid not only of ruins, unexplained anomalies and mutated beings, but also of valuable artifacts. It is the presence of the latter that causes the borders of the zone to be crossed by the next daredevils, counting on the possibility of quick (but not necessarily easy) enrichment. One of the people who succumbed to this kind of “gold rush” is the main character of the title.
### Mechanics
In Tunguska: The Visiation, released on the PC platform, the action is observed from a camera hanging over the head of the character. During the game we travel through various locations, between which we can only travel after discovering special routes allowing for safe crossings. Due to the fact that in Zon there are several conflicting factions with different goals, in the course of our adventure we often have to make morally ambiguous choices; additionally, choosing one side of the conflict often blocks our access to some of the tasks that we would receive from another group.
An important role is also played by the fight against the opponents \- the clashes take place in real time, and the opponents (we talk about both people and mutants) are eliminated primarily with the use of firearms. In the game there is a place for survival aspects \- for example, it is necessary to carefully manage equipment, whose capacity is strictly limited.
### Technical issues
Stylistics of the three-dimensional graphic design of Tunguska: The Visitation evokes unambiguous associations with visuals S.T.A.A.L.K.E.R.-owThe authors use not only very similar colours – the buildings look familiar, for example. However, the whole thing only represents a decent level of performance.
